Dragon Beaders

Dragonweb

Welcome to the Dragon Beaders Website

We are a group of crafts people who love to bead near the Woking area in Surrey

We meet once a week Friday afternoons in the Lye Hall of St. John’s Memorial Hall from 1:30 to 3:30pm
We also have 2 Saturday meetings each year where we bead, (or sometimes knit) help each other,
eat cake and raise funds for the Woking Hospice.

Each year we put together a display of our work for the London Bead Show at Kempton Race Course – Sunbury
The next one is on Saturday February 7th 2016

If you would like more information or to come a long for a chat –
just e-mail me Gillian Lamb and I will give you some more details.

First FrostIn 2005 we put together a project and entered the Beadworkers Guild Challenge.
We didn’t win, but you can see the piece called “First Frost” just to the right on this page.
There will be a section soonshowing how we all came together to plan and make this very exciting piece of beadwork.
It was a great triumph or collaboration and encompassed all members with differing skill levels

Once a year – in February we put together a display for The “The London Bead Show” at Kempton Race Course
We started way back in 2006 with just one display each year since the show was only a yearly event.
The show became a twice yearly event for several years, but now is back to a single show each February –
but we enjoy working hard to make different things and change the theme a bit each time.

We also support the UK beading community as much as we can and the links below will take you to the
Bead Society of Great Britain  and the Beadworkers Guild who are promoting the National Beading Week

Please do support them as best you can – they both have wonderful colour magazines several times a year and for a very
modest investment you can connect with other beaders and learn about the history of beading as well as new techniques.
