Welcome to the Dragon Beaders Website
We are a group of crafts people who love to bead near the Woking area in Surrey
Starting September 2016 we will meet once a week on
Friday afternoons in the Lye Hall of St. John’s Village Memorial Hall from 1:30 to 3:30pm
This is £15.00 per month or £5.00 for the occasional visit
The hall is fairly close to both Woking and Guildford in Surrey
We also have 2 Saturday meetings each year where we bead, (or sometimes knit) help each other,
eat cake and raise funds for the Woking Hospice.
Next Saturday Meeting :- 3rd December 2016
£10.00 and we may have a trader … watch this space.
If you need more details or have questions or maybe would like to come a long to bead or for a chat –
just e-mail me Gillian Lamb and we will give you a very warm welcome.
In 2005 we put together a project and entered the Beadworkers Guild Challenge.
We didn’t win, but you can see the piece called “First Frost” just to the right on this page.
There will be a section soon 9hopefully!) showing how we all came together to plan and make this very exciting piece of beadwork.
It was a great triumph or collaboration and encompassed all members with differing skill levels
In past years we have put together displays for The “The London Bead Show” at Kempton Race Course – Sunbury
The last one was in February 2016
We started way back in 2006 with just one display each year since the show was only a yearly event.
The show became a twice yearly event for several years until reverting to the yearly show (and now no longer running)
but we enjoyed working hard to make different things and changed the theme a little bit each time.
Please do support them as best you can – they both have wonderful colour magazines several times a year and for a very
modest investment you can connect with other beaders and learn about the history of beading as well as new techniques.
